Midnight Inspiration

So remember a couple posts back when I said that I wanted to start a video blog? (if not go back and read like 3 posts previous).. Well, haha here we have the magical moment recorded in which I had woken up in the middle of the night with the idea that it's time to start the blog again..

I think this was Supposed to be making like notes..? for what I wanted to do with my blog.. Then again at some points I'm acting like I'm talking to an audience Hahah really don't know what I was thinking in this exact moment.. (note to self.. You should have learned something from seinfield when Jerry told you not to write jokes (or make video notes) in the middle of the night... Its just uninspiring..and slightly hiilaarouss :P)

Anyways here is the video.. I am posting it as the first one because it's where the magic... And idea was birthed.. Haha and it's kinda funny.. I'm pretty gangsta in my sleepy daze of inspiration :P

A Story Of The Ages

My Cousin recently told me something that will never depart from my spirit.. As we sat down by the river during the conclusion of the annual Manitoba Parkinson Walk, he began to speak to me about something that had happened.. At first I was quite tentative to what he was about to share with me, as I am when most people tell me that they have a good story. But once the story began I was hooked on to his every word.. So I thought I would share with the few faithful followers I still have to Pigeonspoo.. Enjoy

This cousin has a friend who lives up in a smaller community in Northern Manitoba called 'The Pas'. This friend of my cousin is in his mid-life, living with his 17 year old son. Now the son, who is a rather large kid for only 17, has a fairly common condition which effects many people throughout the world. That condition is Autism.. As we all know Autism can be a confusing disease.. And produces some 'side effects' that just seem... well.. bizarre.. Anyways this young man had one of these weird 'side effects' which caused him to have a raging fetish for all things small.. Ever since he was a child he collected every kind of Troll, Gnome, Leprechaun, Dwarf, etc.. needless to say, he LOVES them... the father was well aware of this obsession and was not surprised when while sitting at his desk one day at work, he received a phone call from his home number. The ecstatic voice on the other line was on the verge of screaming "DAD, DAD I CAUGHT A REAL LIVE TROLL!''.... Obviously having heard things similar to this before the dad quickly ended the conversation with a 'that’s great son, I will see it after work' and hung up. After 2 or 3 more calls of sheer excitement the father became a bit more concerning and decided that he should take a quick break to run home and make sure everything was alright..

Upon arriving at the house, the son was already waiting in the hallway with a bodacious smile that resembled one of a child who had just seen it’s first real life elephant, or a grown man who had originally invested in Facebook at $1/share... "DAD, DAD QUICK COME SEE!!!' the boy screamed as his dad removed his boots.. 'All right son, where is it' he replied. He then followed his son into the son’s room only to see all the furniture from the entire room pushed against the closet door.. The father, obviously shocked, asked the son what he had been doing!! The son replied 'I HAVE IT! IT'S LOCKED IN THE CLOSET!'. So they removed the layers of bed, dresser, nightstands, various gnome statues, etc until the Closet was now free. They opened the door, slowly and with some anticipation on the fathers end of what he was going to find.. The door opened just enough to allow for the light of the room to pierce the darkness, slowly revealing the shape of something huddled on the floor... to the fathers extreme surprise, there sat with tears forming at the brink of his eyes a 3 foot nothing midget!!! The small fellow was a Jehovah’s Witness and had been going door to door in the neighborhood discussing his faith in an attempt to convert new believers~

Unfortunately, when he reached this house, he was completely unprepared for a possibility that someone may just have an autistic son with a fetish for tiny persons!! The son had quickly pounced him and barricaded him in his closet for close to 4 hours! Later, after threats of legal action, a quick sit down meeting to explain the Childs autism quickly folded any chance of a charge..

As a disclaimer

I felt off color sharing this via internet.. but it is a great story.. and ‘Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world. red, and yellow, autistic, or with no height. They are precious in his sight~! ‘

don’t hate or discriminate people! haha just enjoy the story and go hug a small person... but dont lock them in your closet..

its not nice... ;)

The Opposite of Courage is not Cowardice, but Conformity.

I came across some interesting and important information today during our weekly bible study,

thoughts about courage and how it tests our persons

Courage often gets misunderstood as the ability that only is exerted at a time when there is a great tragedy or extreme danger.. when in reality courage is much more close to us on a day to day basis..

Winston Churchill said 'courage is the virtue of being able to stand up and speak, as well as the ability to sit down and listen'. it can take just as brave a person to sit down and listen to unwanted truths as it takes to stand up and speak out against something they don't believe in. you can do nothing worthwhile without courage.. and only a person with courage can live life without regrets..

Courage means taking an initiative to make a change when inactivity is the easier answer.. in order to grow as individuals we must have to courage to face truths about ourselves and have the initiative to change problems or expand strengths.. 'Greatness' in analysis- is largely due to bravery and courage.'

The opposite of courage isn't cowardice, its conformity.. its not enough to believe in something, you must live for it. its not worth living unless you have something to die for..

important points about building up courage that stood out to me,

-convictions are stronger then fear- ('believe is something you will argue about- convictions are something you will die for'. having convictions for your beliefs will drive courage into your actions for them. )

-Vision is clearer then my doubts

-Spiritual sensitivity is louder then popular opinion

-right actions are more robust then rationalization

-self-esteem greater then self-protection- (belief in ones self is of more value then always trying to protect oneself from peoples opinions and social tendencies to insult and look down on and from straying out of conformity.)

orison swett marden stated "live up to your resolve, work at what the creator meant for you to work for in the perfecting of his plan, and you will be invincible. no power on Earth can hold you back from success"

which is a wonderful quote completely backed up by what is stated in the bible,

David also said to Solomon his son, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished 1 Chronicles 28:20

in closing i discovered that in order to succeed in life you must have courage, without courage there is no other way for you to reach your potential.*
