August 13 2011
Today was a really good day..
first off, i was awoken rather early for my liking on a saturday.. but knowing what the day was about to entail i could have cared less.. my first stop this morning was the house of my grandparents where our family was to gather for a little time of fellowship and prayer.. brought on by recent events, the Reverend T.V. Thomas, an ex-hindu turned evangelist who preaches all over the world called our family together for a time to reflect and pray about strongholds and curses that can be passed down from generations.. after seeing a pattern with the recent deaths of my two cousins in the last 10 months mirroring very closely two family deaths that had happened in the past generation, i felt it was completely a word from God. We had the introduction, meeting, prayer time, then fellowship.. and i can surely say that after it was all said and done i felt alot closer to the big man then i have in a long time..
directly after that, the Senate skateshop team held a demo in Rivers, Manitoba.. where marky Rey crawled out of a cave to come rip the park and make us all look bad... although the vet Martyn Conrad held his own with a huge slam on a blunt bigspin in the quarter... big slam for a guy with 29 years on his resume... i think the highlight of the demo for me was brendan pretty signing boards like he was freakin Ryan Shecklar.. and rey rey didnt get one signiture request... o well. i guess the kids just go for the nerdy freestyle skating now adays.. it was pretty funny.. although nice to see a friend get some props for something he works so hard on...
after that back to the plaza for a bit... another smash to the shin/hip/ankle/bruised palm and i got the hint.. taking a break for a couple days.. im off to the grand beach with my babes, then the city for some salsa at the forks and folklorama.. should be a good couple days!
